From the Editors Keyboard

A most enjoyable day on Sunday the 26th November, thanks to Mary and her organisation of the Poker Run. Thanks to Jan Saywell for whipping up the report at such speed and thanks also to Captain Dave for providing photos of the day. Well after a very wet Winter it is now looking like we are in for long hot Summer or so I am told. Some of us have certainly been getting some spectacular electrical storms recently, followed by some very heavy down pours and even hail in some places apparently. I didn't need to water the garden the other night that is for sure, but I no longer have any flowers on my roses to speak of. John spent a busy weekend the other week putting up lights on the outside of our house so he at least has the Christmas Spirit. Alas I am still a bit of a Grinch, but did get a Christmas Tree out & of course he had to get out all his darn noisy Xmas toys. Fine till he turns them all on at once! Grr Since this is the last Newsletter for 2017 and probably won't be another until after our next Club Run or event, I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year and a Happy and Safe Holiday Season. Safe travels to anyone driving down to the National Rally and hope everyone has a great time. We will look forward to reading all about it in the Christchurch Magazine next year. We will no doubt have a phone around or send out emails regarding any club events or outings for the New Year. I am not sure what is to be organised for February at this stage and of course our cancelled end of year BBQ may end up by being at some stage in the New Year.
